At Lucero Legal Services, we help eligible clients navigate certain family law matters with clarity, professionalism and personal attention. As an Ontario Family Legal Services Provider, Gisel Lucero is specially trained and authorized by the Law Society of Ontario to provide defined family law services within the permitted scope.

What Is a Family Legal Services Provider?
A Family Legal Services Provider, also known as an FLSP, is an Ontario paralegal who has completed additional family law training and received authorization from the Law Society of Ontario to provide certain legal services in family law matters.
An FLSP does not replace a family lawyer in every situation. However, for eligible and uncontested matters, an FLSP can offer a practical and accessible option for people who need professional assistance with forms, procedures and specific court processes.
Family Law Services We Offer
Joint and Uncontested Divorce
If you and your spouse are seeking a divorce and there are no disputed issues requiring a judge to decide, we may be able to assist with a joint or uncontested divorce.
Depending on your circumstances, our assistance may include:

Reviewing information and supporting documents

Assisting with filing and procedural requirements

Preparing the affidavit for divorce

Helping obtain the final divorce order and Certificate of Divorce
Before beginning, we assess whether the matter falls within our authorized scope and whether any unresolved issues require advice or representation from a family lawyer.
Motions to Change Child Support
Circumstances can change after a child support agreement or court order is made. A parent’s income may increase or decrease, a child may no longer be eligible for support, or updated financial information may require the support amount to be reconsidered.
We may assist with eligible motions to change child support where the matter does not involve contested special or extraordinary expenses under section 7 of the Federal Child Support Guidelines.
Our services may include explaining the process, preparing the required forms, organizing financial disclosure and helping clients understand the procedural steps.
Responding to Family Responsibility Office Matters

Filing a Domestic Contract With the Court
In certain circumstances, a domestic contract—such as an existing separation agreement—may need to be filed with the court so that support provisions can be enforced.
We may assist with the filing process for an existing domestic contract. We do not draft, negotiate or provide legal advice regarding separation agreements. Clients who need a new agreement or advice about changing its terms should consult a family lawyer

What We Cannot Assist With
Our family law authorization is limited. Lucero Legal Services does not represent clients in contested family law proceedings or matters involving issues outside the authorized FLSP scope.
We do not draft or negotiate separation agreements, and we do not handle contested parenting, decision-making responsibility, parenting-time, property-division or complex support disputes. When a matter falls outside our scope, we will explain that clearly and recommend that the client obtain advice from a family lawyer.
